Eaglewood Folk Festival existed for 26 consecutive years and was known as the late-summer event in Pefferlaw where folk/roots/blues music lovers got together to enjoy three intimate days of live original music performed by an eclectic group of artists. Eaglewood was a singer songwriter’s festival and appreciated by musicians for its listening audiences. It was very laid back and there was an uncomplicated fusion of music and people, of performers and audience; folks shared the natural setting, camped for the weekend, participated in open mics and fireside song circles; people of all abilities and all ages were welcomed and engaged.
Eaglewood is just a pleasant memory now – the final 26th festival was produced in August 2015. The not-for-profit organization struggled and finally called it quits, having endured several challenging years of dwindling grant funding, relocation, downsizing, bureaucratic red tape and volunteer exhaustion.
The festival has ended but the Eaglewood spirit endures. A small community of Eaglewood friends still likes to get together on the fourth weekend in August for a music-filled, cozy summer gathering.
If you are interested in participating in a one-day musical picnic, your name must be on the invitation list. Send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with your contact info and details will be provided, including location, directions, performers, etc.
